More Room: Trash Busters
April 22 is Clean Up, Evanston Day. It is a worthy and necessary admonition because litter is, unfortunately, everywhere: on the streets, in the parks, under trees, across fields, against fences, below viaducts, along parkways, all over town. Trash is the detritus of modern living, of excessive consumption and casual thoughtlessness.

Room for a View: Tweets
The god “Was” looked disappointedly at the earth. Not very much there filled the god with mirth. God Was thought that it would never see humans who felt more powerful than Thee. The tweets of some humans confirmed that they were mad and very much determined to make masses of humans sad. Actions that made many humans tense were actions that also made the god Was wince.

Room for a View: The Climate of Change
Last November our country experienced a massive change in leadership. Its repercussions continue to reverberate through our nation and around the world. More Room: Bad Habits
We are all creatures of habit. Habits permeate our daily life, so much so that we don’t even realize the extent of their hold on us. But observe yourself carefully one morning. You might find that you brush your teeth, put on your clothes, eat breakfast, drink coffee, drive to work, listen to the radio, and park the car the same way, every day.

Room for a View: Take Care
My mother did not trust politicians.  She felt that they were dishonest and manipulative.  I was surprised to read Online definitions of politicians that included the following: “A person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization; a person engaged in party politics as a profession, often a person primarily interested in political office for selfish or other narrow usually short-sighted reasons.”  Wow.  My mom was certainly not alone in her opinion of politicians.

Room for a View: Utopia in Utero
We, THE PEOPLES of the world, all races, all nations, all genders, all ages stand together seeking justice, acceptance, understanding and equality – of opportunity at least but especially in the minds and behaviors of all human beings.

Editorial: Welcome, New and Returning City Leaders: Here's an Abbreviated Agenda
A long and sometimes contentious campaign season has ended. There are lessons to be learned from looking back, and now it is time to look back on this election season as one that offered lessons to be learned and to look ahead at the many things that still need to be done to make our City peaceful, affordable, and sustainable – in other words, liveable.
