Movie Filming in Evanston Seeks Extras
This summer, Evanston will host the filming of “The Pages” at various locations throughout the City until the end of July. Extras are needed for filming.

'Show of Summer 2017'

In 2015, the Garden Club of Evanston completed an eight-year project on the campus of the Evanston Township High School: to inventory, research, photograph, and supplement and label all trees and woody shrubs with botanical signs for educational and display purposes. By recreating the club’s efforts in the Chicago Botanic Garden's "Show of Summer" display, the goal is to convey the concept that “the campus becomes classroom.”

WNV Found in Local Mosquitoes
The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District has found the first indications of West Nile virus activity in the District this year. Mosquitoes collected in Evanston, Morton Grove, and Skokie between June 2 and 5, tested positive for West Nile virus in the lab on June 6.

Entry into the austere PharmaCannis facility, located in the public parking garage at 1804 Maple Ave., requires a state-issued medical cannabis card and a security check.

Evanston Legislators Discuss Springfield Budget Impasse
State Representatives Laura Fine and Robyn Gabel, on June 5, updated Evanston residents on the most recent legislative session at a community meeting at the Levy Senior Center. The chief concern for the two legislators, as well as many audience members, was that Illinois representatives left Springfield without having crafted a budget for FY’18. It has been two years since the State government has had a complete budget.

Seth Green to Leave Y.O.U.
